Tiago Tebet (b. 1986, São Paulo, Brazil) explores the intersections of materiality, abstraction, and perception through painting and sculpture. His work challenges traditional artistic boundaries, often incorporating unconventional materials through experimental techniques, blending different visual languages within painting. Deeply engaged with texture, color, and spatial relationships, his compositions invite viewers to look beyond the surface. Frequently questioning his own techniques, he continuously pushes his practice forward, ensuring a fresh and invigorating body of work. In a state of constant movement, he rejects the notion of a fixed style or mannerism.

Tebet graduated in Visual Arts from Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado (FAAP) in 2009. During his academic journey, he worked as an assistant to renowned artists Antonio Peticov and Leda Catunda, experiences that played a crucial role in shaping his artistic practice. In 2008, he was part of Anarcademia, a collective led by Dora Longo Bahia that participated in the 28th São Paulo Art Biennial.

His work is primarily focused on painting, characterized by precise geometric forms and meticulous attention to detail. Using oil on canvas and the glazing technique, Tebet reconstructs everyday trivialities with a realism that unfolds through multiple layers of meaning. His notable solo exhibitions include Standard (2011), AAAAAhhh!!! (2017), and From Here to Eternity...But Not (2020). He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, such as the Annual Art Exhibitions at FAAP (2007, 2008, and 2009) and the 28th São Paulo Art Biennial (2008). In 2018, he was nominated for the PIPA Prize, one of Brazil’s most prestigious contemporary art awards.

Tebet currently lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
