When something as devastating as a hurricane impacts your life, it can shatter your outlook on the world. Inspired by the broken glass surrounding his home after Hurricane Andrew in 1992, Arsham has created 'Focus' made entirely from shattered glass.
''Encrusted in glittering, shining glass, the work seems to speak of the fragile nature of life, carrying along the fragmented elements of lives disrupted. Stuck to the bodies like skin, the destroyed windows of homes after a storm seem especially poignant for an artist that has experienced two massive hurricanes in his lifetime.''
