Contratura, the solo exhibition by Argentine artist Pablo Siquier, sees precision and primitivism combining in an unusual way across three gigantic new panels. “They’re just three drawings to occupy a huge space,” says the artist. In this new series, Siquier employs the technique of charcoal drawing, yet transforms it by adopting large-scale formats. The new works are executed by hand directly on the wall. “These are hyper-precise and exact drawings, executed with a primitive and flawed tool,” he comments.
