On the occasion of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, Pablo Reinoso has unveiled his piece ‘Fleuves de France’ at the courtyard of the Élysée Palace.
Positioned on either side of the Presidential Palace’s entrance steps, the site-specific installation features two sculpted ramps welcoming visitors to the building. Reinoso's characteristic intertwined steel curves serve both as handrails and supports, offering an accessible entryway to the palace.
In addition to enhancing accessibility, the installation brings an organic element to the interior courtyard. The intertwined shapes evoke natural imagery, reminiscent of the winding courses of converging rivers, as suggested by its title Fleuves de France ("Rivers of France").
