(...) Arsham's practice explores the concepts of History by questioning our understanding of the past and future through her presentation of pop culture objects in a state of geological erosion.
Sports objects are a recurring theme in the artist's work, due to his personal interest, particularly in basketball, but also because athletics and leisure have long been part of the human experience. In "Le Modulor du Basketball", Arsham pays homage to Le Corbusier by interacting both with his aesthetic language and his gesture as a designer-architect, by mixing themes of sport and history in this room which historically originally served as a gymnasium. , with references to the colors of the Housing Unit and the proportions of the “Modulor”.
