Joana Vasconcelos' crochet compositions are halfway between painting and sculpture. Questioning the modernist idea of the autonomy of each artistic medium, these Crochet Paintings present stitched volumes that overlap each other, offering “a new perspective that does not require us to enter the work as it takes the initiative to meet us”.
