Overview
I will be exhibiting two-dimensional works that relate to my sculptural work, reflecting time and geology mixed with human-made constructions. The exhibition aims to merge Mallorca's historical background with its contemporary luxury scene, offering a unique perspective that blurs the boundaries of time.—Daniel Arsham
Baró Galeria is delighted to announce July 3023, the first solo exhibition in Mallorca by American artist Daniel Arsham, opening on July 27, 2023 to coincide with the 10th year anniversary of the gallery’s partnership with the artist. For the first time, new and unseen works by Arsham will be displayed in Baró’s novel location in the heart of Palma de Mallorca. The collaboration between Arsham and Baró began in 2013 when the gallery first presented his work “Error Mirror” at the Armory Show in New York City. The paintings, drawings and sculptures displayed on the exhibition represent objects of an imaginary future thousand years from now, the same way visitors today go to archeological sites such as Pollentia, an ancient roman city located in the north of the island.Daniel Arsham, an acclaimed artist in the realm of contemporary art, is renowned for his skillful transformation of cultural artifacts into subtly weathered objects. His artistic approach beautifully intertwines elements of the past, present, and future, evoking a profound sense of nostalgia. In his exhibition, Arsham presents a captivating juxtaposition of works on paper, paintings, and sculptures crafted from geological materials. These artworks draw direct inspiration from ancient Roman culture, as well as iconic objects and characters from our modern era. -
