    7B23

    MARCH 5 – 9, 2025

  • This year, Baró Galeria will present Hot Compost Piles at ARCOMadrid 2025, exploring the dialogue between nature and the body through works by seven artists from the Global South: Lygia Clark, Artur Barrio, Gego, Eugenio Espinoza, Citra Sasmita, Violeta Quispe, and Tecla Tofano.

Inspired by Donna Haraway’s concept of becoming-with in unexpected collaborations, the stand will reflect a political stance—centering non-European, female-majority voices and challenging traditional Eurocentric narratives in contemporary art. As an addition to our gallery program, we will also showcase selected pieces by artist Joana Vasconcelos, who currently has an exhibition on view at the Palacio Liria in Madrid.
