MIRA Latino Art Fair in Paris 2026: Booth C-18

Baró is pleased to announce its first participation in MIRA Art Fair with Imaymanam Pacha, a solo presentation by Peruvian artist Violeta Quispe (b. 1989, Lima) at Booth C-18. Dedicated to contemporary art from Latin America and the Caribbean, the third edition of the fair takes place from 12 to 15 November 2026 at the Maison de l’Amérique latine, 217 Boulevard Saint-Germain, Paris. The presentation coincides with the artist’s solo exhibition Imaymanam Pacha – Toutes les formes, un seul secret at Baró Paris, on view until 19 December 2026.

Quispe works from the Tablas de Sarhua, painted wooden boards that narrate the life, rituals and memory of the Quechua community of Sarhua, in Ayacucho. In Quechua, imaymanam means “of every kind.” Drawing on the three Andean worlds (Hanan Pacha, Kay Pacha and Uku Pacha), the artist imagines a fourth territory for what is changing, ambiguous or hard to classify. There, bodies, mountains, animals and deities escape fixed identities to address gender, sexuality, matriarchal lineage and community myths. Her materials include earth pigments from Sarhua, Andean medicinal plants, her own blood and gold leaf. In this new body of work, some pieces move toward sculpture and installation.

Following the 60th Venice Biennale and a 2025 residency at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris, Quispe’s works recently entered the collections of Les Abattoirs, Musée – Frac Occitanie Toulouse, and Frac Grand Large — Hauts-de-France. After the fair, visitors can continue at Baró Paris, 12 Galerie Véro-Dodat, 75001 Paris, open Tuesday to Saturday, 11 am – 6 pm.
