Baró Returns to São Paulo, Opening a Pop-Up with Ayako Rokkaku

at Taller Zaragoza, São Paulo, Brazil

Baró is returning to São Paulo. Founded in the city by Maria Baró in 1999, the gallery opens a pop-up space at Taller Zaragoza, in Jardim Europa, running 20 August through 3 September,  its first presentation in São Paulo since 2020.

The move comes as the gallery's international footprint keeps growing. Since 2021 Baró has opened spaces in Palma de Mallorca, and in 2025 in Abu Dhabi and Paris The São Paulo pop-up brings that expanded program back to where it started. Marking the occasion is Playful, Stormy, Continuing, Japanese artist Ayako Rokkaku's first solo exhibition in Latin America, with around fifteen paintings, several made during her recent residency in São Paulo. Rokkaku will paint live at the opening on 20 August, from 6 to 9 pm.
