Baró Paris hosts Looking for Medalla, a performance by Luis Salazar, on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 6 to 8 pm. The event takes place in the context of the exhibition David Medalla: Le Désir Cinétique..., curated by Rolando J. Carmona, and is a proposal by Carmona.
Starting from a sculptural device inspired by the work of David Medalla, Salazar imagines a delirious plot linking Mondrian, Medalla, Lygia Clark and Hélio Oiticica. Signs of love and hate meet materials as disparate as cassava, foam, spools of thread and chocolate, together with the legacy of the Bauhaus, in a collage that reassesses the relationship between centre and periphery in the art world. As in an exquisite corpse, the audience is invited to add phrases and objects to the plot, altering the sponge wall.
Luis Salazar (b. 1968, Caracas) is a Venezuelan artist known for parodying the art circuit and its power relations through humor and social critique.
The event takes place at Baró Paris, 12 Véro-Dodat, 75001 Paris.
