Baró Galeria is pleased to announce its participation in Abu Dhabi Art 2023 with a solo show by Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos.
For this exhibition, Joana Vasconcelos presents a selection of intervened animal sculptures, depicting insects, reptiles, amphibians and horses wrapped by the artist in a delicate crocheted lace. Continuing with her practice of repurposing household objects and traditional techniques, Vasconcelos creates original pieces based on designs by 19th century Portuguese sculptor and caricaturist Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro.
